Bob Bidewell

Bob Bidewell, a native of Poplar Bluff, Mo., joined the LR Winds in 2001 as keyboard and bass clarinetist and served as the band’s librarian for ten years.

Bidewell was a charter member of the Northeast Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and played with that group for 25 years before moving to central Arkansas. He was a band director for 10 years in northeast Arkansas, taught piano at Lyon College, and served as staff accompanist at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro. He worked in church music for more than 30 years as organist and director of music.

Bidewell holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from Arkansas State University. He studied organ with Dr. Ervin Dunham, Harriet O’Neal, and Dr. Jane Gamble, and his piano studies were with Dr. James Patty and Dr. Theron Waddle.
