Durham Hill

French Horn

North Little Rock native Durham Hill began subbing in the LR Winds horn section a few years ago and became a full-time member in 2021. He is an active freelancer and private horn teacher and performs with the Arkansas Harmonie Chamber Winds, the Conway Symphony Orchestra, and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. He is also the ASO Youth Ensembles Manager.


In 2019 Durham received the Bachelor of Music in horn performance from the University of Central Arkansas where he studied horn with Brent Shires. In 2021 he received the Master of Music in Horn Performance from West Virginia University where he studied with Jonas Thoms. While at WVU, he performed with the Graduate Wind Quintet, Chamber Winds, and Symphony Orchestra.

Durham has been a part of masterclass appearances with artists Rik Vercruysse, Bruno Schneider, David Jolley, the American Horn Quartet, and Genghis Barbie. In addition, he has had lessons with Randall Faust, Scott Fearing, Dietrich Hemann, Dan Phillips, Charles “Skip” Snead, and Jeffrey Powers. He currently continues his horn study with David Renfro.
