Scott Stratton is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and completed his graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music, where he received the Master of Music degree, Performers’ Certificate, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Trombone Performance. Dr. Stratton has been on the faculty of Texas Christian University, the State University of New York, the Eastman Community Music School, and others. He also spent two years as the Special Projects Coordinator to the Dean of the Eastman School of Music.
As a performer, Dr. Stratton served 19 seasons as Principal Trombone of the Las Colinas Symphony, 5 seasons as Principal Trombone of the Sherman Symphony, and is presently Second Trombone of the Irving Symphony, all in Texas. He has been a substitute musician with numerous professional orchestras and has performed with the Perennial Brass quintet since 2002.
Outside of music, Scott works as a financial planner. He is the founder of Good Life Wealth Management and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Financial Planner designations.
