Sharon Burrall joined the LR Winds in 2003 as principal flutist. She maintains an active performance schedule as vocalist as well as flutist. In addition, she has been a music educator for over 30 years and has directed choirs from the elementary level through high school. She is the music specialist for third through fifth-grade students at Don Roberts Elementary School where she founded the Children’s Choir. You can often hear her accompany her music classes on guitar. And as if that is not enough, she is also the pianist at Highland Valley United Methodist Church.
Burrall received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Henderson State University, and the Master of Music degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She studied flute with David Etienne and voice with Theresa McCrae, and is a certified Orff-Schulwerk music educator. Her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Educators, National Flute Association, American Choral Directors Association and the American Orff Schulwerk Association.
